Extracurricular: Wellbeing and self-care with Jen Nevin

Extracurricular is a series of sessions which you give you the opportunity to learn more about different jobs in the arts, sharing of artistic pathways, journeys and resources.

Jennifer Nevin is the Co-Artistic Director of Displace Yourself, a wellbeing practitioner and Bradford based performing artist. Her session will include:

  • Discussion around supporting artists and creatives to look after themselves and their wellbeing
  • Self-care practical hints, tips, techniques and exercises to help support your wellbeing

Jennifer Nevin is a theatre maker, director and an experienced workshop facilitator who is interested in making work that primarily uses the body to ask uncomfortable questions about this ever changing world and making enquiries into what it means to be human.

Jennifer studied at East 15 Acting School on the Acting and Contemporary Theatre Course and since graduating has performed at venues such as Soho Theatre, Cockpit Theatre London and The West Yorkshire Playhouse and festivals including Latitude, Audio Farm, Beacons and many more.

Jennifer has directed new writing at the New Wimbledon Studio and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where one of her directed plays was nominated for an NSDF Award. An experienced yoga teacher, with experience in therapeutic movement and the care system. Jennifer facilitates sessions with vulnerable groups to heal trauma, both in the UK and internationally too.

This session will be relaxed and informative throughout so you’ll be able to ask as many questions as you like, get to know Jen and hopefully pick up some new ideas that you might want to try out now or in the future.
