About this training

LVL/UP is a 9-part online training programme covering the important aspects of producing and project management in the arts. In taking part, you will develop the skills, strategies, and tools to become a brilliant producer. You will also make valuable connections with other producers from Bradford and across the UK.

The training is led by Francesca Moody, producer of Fleabag and Aysha Powell, Chief Operating Officer at New Adventures, who between them have over two decades of experience creating amazing, award-winning work.

Bradford Producing Hub wants to support more people to develop and sustain a career as a producer in our region. We are working with LVL/UP to bring you this bespoke programme and we’re offering this training to aspiring producers from Bradford and the wider region for free, through bursary places to complete the course in January and February 2023.

Is this for me?

This training is for people who live or work in Bradford, or anyone in the region with an interest in Bradford and building connections here. We want to hear from applicants who are passionate about bringing creativity to life and want to develop their career as an arts producer.

We think the training will best suit people who have some experience of being involved in putting on events and making things happen, which could be through a range of things like:

Running community events
Delivering personal creative projects
Working as an Assistant Producer or a similar type of role
Volunteering or involvement in organising creative activities
It may also be of interest to people currently producing creative events to brush up on their skills and knowledge

What does this training include?

Through this training programme you will gain:

Insight and knowledge from brilliant producers based on their real-life experiences.

Skills that producers use every day, including working with artists and creatives, fundraising, marketing, and running creative projects.

Access to resources and templates to help with your projects, including an online network of producers and project managers from across the UK who share information and support each other.

Strategies to become a great producer and project manager.

A certificate and social media badge to show what you have learnt.

Meet the facilitators

Francesca Moody

Francesca Moody MBE is an Olivier award-winning Theatre Producer with over a decade of experience and has produced theatre for the Edinburgh Festival, London’s West End, and for both UK and international touring. In 2018, she launched Francesca Moody Productions.

Francesca is perhaps best known as the original producer of the multi-award-winning television series Fleabag, written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Aysha Powell

Aysha co-runs LVL/UP arts training with Francesca Moody and has worked in high-energy arts management roles for over 13 years. Aysha is currently Chief Operating Officer at New Adventures. She has previously held management roles at Trigger, Punchdrunk Enrichment, Paines Plough, and the Lyric, Hammersmith.

Aysha is passionate about demystifying the processes involved in making great art.

Training sessions and dates

The programme will be hosted online across 9 sessions in January and February 2023. We have designed this programme specifically for online delivery to make the sessions as accessible as possible and so that you can fit them around your other commitments. Online delivery also means that we’re able to secure our experienced and inspirational facilitators, Francesca and Aysha. To get the most out of this training, we urge you to attend all the scheduled sessions, so please pencil these dates in your diary when you apply.

Bursaries and access fund

We can provide bursaries and cover access costs to enable you to attend our sessions. Please let us know in your application what you need.

Bursaries are a contribution towards your time to help you attend when you might otherwise be working. You can claim up to £50 per session.

Access costs are to cover any additional costs you may have to pay to enable you to attend – things that other people might not have to cover, such as disability support, translation, or childcare. If you have any access needs to allow you to take part, please let us know what you need in your application and we’ll do our best to support you.
