Meet Kerry, Bradford Producing Hub’s 2024 PROPEL candidates, working with Sheffield Theatres on a Producer placement.

Kerry is a Writer, Creative Producer and Facilitator based in Bradford. She often explores contemporary social and political topics within her work and is passionate about devising performances and developing projects with working-class communities and young people.

Kerry was the writer and producer of KAILEY, a comedy-drama play inspired by her teenage experiences of having parents in prison. Recently, KAILEY has just finished a sold-out pilot run at Keighley Creative in partnership with Kala Sangam and received a 4 star review from the Yorkshire Post. She has previously secured funding from Leeds Council, Arts Council England and Bradford Council. Furthermore, Kerry was the recipient of the Live Theatre bursary in 2020.

Kerry has co-produced various events and projects such as comedy nights and community-led projects in Keighley, and was the Assistant Producer on Freedom Studios’ Bradford Voices Project. As a writer, Kerry was on BBC Writersroom Northern Voices 2022 Scheme. Her short radio play SUCH IS LIFE was developed as part of the Dream Reality Radio Scheme and was performed at Leeds Playhouse’s Furnace Festival 2021. In 2020, Kerry was awarded an Arts Council Developing Your Creative Practice grant to explore working-class female voices within her writing. She was a writer on Freedom Studios’ Street Voices 8 where her short play POUND TWENTY was part of a live-streamed sharing.​
