After seven years of working alongside Bradford’s creative community, and nearly three as an independent organisation, Bradford Producing Hub is entering a period of pause.
This is not an easy announcement for us to make, especially so soon after our City of Culture year. Against a backdrop of severe pressures on arts funding – pressures we know many of you are navigating too – a number of unsuccessful funding bids mean that BPH in its current form has become unsustainable.
Sadly, this means that all members of the staff team will be made redundant by 31 August 2026. The BPH Board of Trustees remains in place, and there are no current plans for the charity to close.
The funding landscape that made BPH possible has shifted, and we sadly know that we are not alone in that – across the sector, organisations and freelancers are feeling the same pressure.
We have worked hard to find a path through, but time has been against us, and we now have to face the unavoidable reality. In the time we have left together as a team, our focus is on responsibly honouring our commitments, finding good homes for our ongoing projects, and making sure the hard work we have built together does not disappear.
How you can support us through this next stage
We believe there is still a future for what BPH represents – our values, our approach, our community – and we want you, the sector, to help us practically shape what that looks like. We know that this news will come as a great disappointment to many, and it’s important to us that you have the opportunity to join the conversation on what happens next. We are therefore inviting you to join us for a consultation event. We hope you can make it. If you can’t attend this event, we still value your thoughts and would appreciate your contribution to our consultation survey.
