Calling all strategic decision-makers, cultural leaders, and funders in the arts and culture sector. We invite you to be brave, do things differently, and embrace risk. Join us for our conference Catalysts for Culture: Why your city needs a producing hub.
Bradford Producing Hub has been running for almost 4 years now! Our pilot phase is coming to an end - but don't worry, we're not going anywhere - we're in the process of transitioning into an independent organisation. To celebrate this exciting milestone we're hosting a conference to reflect on our pioneering journey as one of Arts Council England's pilot producing hubs.
At Catalysts for Culture: Why your city needs a producing hub, we will delve into place-based arts development, explore Bradford's cultural ecology, and discuss the partnership working and sparks that ignited Bradford's appointment as the UK City of Culture in 2025.
We'll reveal why your city needs a producing hub, and share our unique approach alongside our successes, challenges, and learnings. We'll also share ideas you can take to your own organisations to foster an inclusive, needs-led, artist-focused cultural ecology in your city. And who knows? Maybe we'll inspire the inception of more producing hubs across the UK!
After the conference, we invite you to the launch of BD: Festival, including the premiere performance of Cricket Green from Balbir Singh Dance Company. This performance has been funded by Bradford Producing Hub and Bradford Metropolitan District Council as part of our Big Commission. We’d love to encourage you to stay over in Bradford on Friday night, to attend the Festival launch event being held at BD25 on Friday evening, and enjoy the full festival programme on the Saturday.
