Trip itinerary
What's the show about?

Manchester Open, the biggest celebration of Greater Manchester’s creative talent, is back! This year, it brings together the artworks of 473 artists, selected anonymously from 1,800 artist submissions, the most applications received from individuals since Manchester Open began.

Selected by a panel of art experts and community representatives, you will see a wide range of work including painting, print, photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, video and audio. Now in its third iteration, Manchester Open 2024 brings together artworks by artists from all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. The amazing range of artworks selected are by established professionals, new and emerging talent, graduates, students, enthusiastic amateurs and first-time artists from as young as 5 years old up to 83 years.

FAQs

What’s included?
A ticket to the show, travel costs from Bradford Interchange, and lunch afterwards.

Do I have to travel with the group?
Yes. We will travel together from Bradford Interchange but you may return home whenever you like.

Access and travel costs

Ticket costs and return travel between Bradford Interchange and Manchester Victoria are covered as part of our Go and See trip as well as any other costs detailed above. However, we realise other costs may cause a barrier to you being able to attend – and we can help with that.

We have travel and access funds available to make these opportunities as accessible to as many people as possible. Please let us know what you need when entering the ballot – your requests won’t affect your chances of being selected to attend.

Things we can cover:

Access costs: additional costs you may have to enable you to attend; things like disability support, interpretation, or childcare.

Travel costs: if you have any other associated travel costs that you need assistance with, please let us know in your entry.

We do not means-test or ask you to prove that you need this financial support, but where possible we need to agree in advance on what costs we will cover, and you will need to provide receipts to claim costs back from us. Please only apply for these if you need to, as this will ensure we can provide funds to those who really need them.
