There is something about September that incites newness and renewal – what better time to come and Make the Change with us!
Join us as we celebrate the work we’ve done so far in empowering artists from marginalised identities and reflect on how to be a better ally to those artists.
Take part in open and active discussions, or just listen and learn. Enjoy music and food while we present art, performances, and films from the artists we’ve proudly commissioned. Be part of a supportive community, learn from marginalised artists, contribute to positive change, and gain insights into allyship and intersectionality.
Make the Change event schedule:
Entry from 3pm
A long table is a discussion-style workshop where participants can sit at the table or observe from an outer circle, those in the inner circle have the opportunity to speak freely on the subject content. Active listening is encouraged for this activity.
Alongside the discussion, there will be a facilitated activity with visual and written prompts relating to the discussion topics, for people to respond in an alternative way.
The sharing will be concluded with a freestyle performance from hip-hop MC and spoken word poet, Testament.
The bar will be open and complementary food will be served by Vegan Spice.
Explore our exhibition of visual art, audio, and film created by our Empowered cohorts.
Enjoy a range of live performances, music and films from our Empowered cohort.
A celebration and music from DJ and musician, NikNak.
