Get ready for a day of inspiration, connection and exploration of approaches to producing in Dance and Visual Arts. We’re partnering with Producer Gathering to bring together creatives working in visual arts and dance to explore what producing looks like to them.
Friday 20 September 2024
11 AM - 5 PM at Kala Sangam, Bradford
During this event, we’ll be joined by producers working in dance and visual arts to collaboratively explore ways to develop impactful ideas that resonate with audiences and communities. They’ll reflect on their creative journeys and how they have overcome challenges specific to each art form.
This event will also provide an opportunity for producers to connect with artists and dance-makers to share knowledge, skills and experiences when it comes to producing work and projects in relation to their individual creative practices. And who knows? Perhaps some new projects will be ignited!

Meet the speakers
Steph Be is a London-based, French-Cameroonian independent creative producer, programmer and consultant working across performing and visual arts. Her primary goal is to promote Black and Brown artists while advocating for female leadership and diversity across the arts industry.
Steph has worked extensively in the Contemporary and Hip-Hop Dance Theatre space, facilitating various projects and outreach programmes, producing and touring work nationally and internationally. Her skills extend beyond the dance sector, as she has worked in film production (4:3 Boiler Room, Channel 4, Nowness), art installations (GLA, Bernie Grant Arts Centre), photography exhibitions (V&A, Velorose Gallery) and programming for festivals such as Windrush 75 at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre.
Steph is currently conducting research trips to Africa to investigate the methodologies and underpinnings behind programming from Eurocentric and Afrocentric perspectives within performing arts festivals.
Her ambition as a cultural entrepreneur is to foster transnational collaborations and contribute to a more nuanced and inclusive representation of African & diasporic artists on the national and international scene. She has an interest for ambitious works where artistic disciplines intertwine, fostering a world where boldness prevails, and unapologetic narratives question our social, cultural and political landscape. Steph believes in creating supporting frameworks that increase visibility for under-represented voices and empower the artistic and creative communities.
Steph holds two undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Performing Arts and a Master’s Degree in the Arts of Choreography. She is fluent in both English and French.
Suzie is a freelance Creative Producer and Programme Manager working in Mid-Wales and the Midlands. Suzie has supported creative practitioners and helped engage the public with art for nearly 15 years, previously holding roles at Crafts Council, Drawing Room and Arvon. Creative work has taken her all over, from a research trip in Marseille to exhibition production in Mexico City. Two years ago she left the city for a life in the countryside, inspired by the endless possibility for creative practice in rural settings.
