Amplify cohort

We're proud to introduce our first Amplify cohort, a genre-rich blend of emerging talent and industry professionals from across Bradford's vibrant music scene

Bradford Producing Hub is thrilled to announce the cohort of talented music creators and professionals selected for Amplify, our new talent development programme supported by the PRS Foundation and the PPL Talent Development Network. Amplify is designed to elevate early to mid-career professionals in Bradford’s vibrant music sector through tailored mentorship, grants, and industry masterclasses.

The selected participants represent a diverse mix of practices and genres, showcasing the District’s dynamic music scene. From operatic virtuosos to genre-defying producers, this cohort embodies the ambition and creativity that Amplify aims to nurture.

The Amplify programme will run until March 2025, providing participants with invaluable resources, networking opportunities, and a platform to showcase their work at the programme’s finale.

“Amplify is about celebrating the diversity and ambition of Bradford’s music creators,” says Amplify Producer, Henna Angus. “This cohort is a testament to the talent in our district, and we’re excited to see how they’ll grow and inspire others through this journey.”

Milana Sarukhanyan

Milana Sarukhanyan

Milana is a Bradford-based Ukrainian soprano, improviser, vocal coach, and an accomplished artist known for her unique blend of operatic virtuosity and experimental vocal techniques. With a rich background in opera and chamber vocal repertoire, Milana’s career highlights include prestigious performances at renowned venues such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, Cafè OTO, and Teatro del’Opera di Roma, as well as international stages in St. Petersburg, Barcelona, and Antwerp.

Alongside her operatic work, Milana is deeply invested in the world of free improvisation, collaborating with avant-garde artists and pushing the boundaries of traditional performance. In 2022, she co-curated the experimental improvisation project The Artist is Present 2.0: Musical Response, which was performed across Lithuania, Germany, and the UK.

Ollie Lawn

Ollie Lawn

Ollie Lawn is a songwriter and producer from Wilsden, Bradford. Blending folk, indie, ambient, and electronic influences to craft a unique take on alt-folk. His debut single, Lightfoot (2023), introduced this distinctive sound to listeners, while his upcoming EP, set for release in 2025, reflects a bold shift in direction and his most ambitious work to date. Drawing inspiration from the bedroom-rock sounds of his childhood and further exploration into electronic textures and production techniques, the EP was written during his solo travels in Australia and recorded, alone, over 12 weeks in Melbourne. Serving as a companion through life’s turbulent and tender moments, Ollie’s music captures feelings of deep yearning, bittersweet memories, and the complexities of navigating inner turmoil.

Ty Richards of Rupcha Farms

Ty Richards of Rupcha Farms

Ty Richards is an MC and frontman of the Bradford alt-rap metal band, Rupcha Farms. A dynamic trio who infused their brash northern identity with a cocktail of cross-genre entertainment. Combining potent rap vocals, high-octane metal/punk riffs and punchy electronica, RF represents and resonates with the energy and escapism of today’s disgruntled generation. Their ability to weave personal and societal ills alongside lawless anthems leaves crowds raving, provoked and moshing all at once. Building a loyal support base from the ground up through acts of creativity and experimentation, exciting times are ahead for this emerging band.

RF take pride in building their own authentic craft, however, are often compared to a fusion of UK Grime, Skindred, Linkin Park and The Prodigy.

This programme is made possible through funding from the PRS Foundation’s new Talent Development Network, which supports organisations like Bradford Producing Hub in strengthening local music ecosystems and enabling transformational development opportunities for music creators.
