This 2-day masterclass will guide musicians, producers and music creators to develop strategies to promote their music, explore streaming models and grow their online audience.
Working with our expert facilitator, Ayaz Aftab Hussain you will gain insight into:
- The economics of the streaming model and Spotify payouts
- A Six Week Song Release Strategy and how to plan promotion effectively online
- The mechanics behind successful social media content
- Cutting-edge marketing strategies including creating subscriber-only bonuses, waterfall strategies, leaked Instagram sound and more
- Direct To Fan strategies for revenue generation such as mailing lists, Patreons and merchandise

Who this workshop is for
This masterclass is for you if:
- You are a musician or music creator, either living in Bradford or you have a strong demonstrable connection to the District
- You’re aged 18 years or over
- You are already releasing music, or you have music ready to release

If you need financial support to attend this masterclass, we can provide attendance bursaries of £75 per day to cover your time. We also have an access fund available to cover things like travel, access support, childcare, caring, language and interpretation costs. Meet the host
Ayaz Aftab Hussain
For the last decade, Ayaz Aftab Hussain has built a reputation as one of the leading voices in music marketing—specialising in running ad campaigns that help artists, managers and labels scale from 10,000 streams to 100,000+ monthly listeners on Spotify.
Through his platform All About Helping Musicians, Ayaz has taught thousands how to use Meta and TikTok ads to grow fanbases, convert attention into income, and release music with systems that consistently deliver results. His YouTube channel blends thought leadership with case studies from campaigns that have generated millions of streams and hundreds of thousands of fans.
Ayaz has consulted for respected companies including +44 Amazon Music, TuneCore UK, Relentless Records, Black Butter Records, SB:TV, GRM Daily and Downtown Holdings Co. He has also run campaigns behind the scenes for artists that have gone viral, earning co-signs from major labels and executives.
As a creator, he has partnered with brands such as DistroKid, SymphonyOS, EVEN, Playlist Supply, un:Hurd and FeatureFM to educate musicians on how to maximise their ad spend without wasting budget.
In 2024, his second Amazon-published book Zero To 10,000 Plays In 60 Days was released, establishing him as a trusted educator and speaker on paid advertising, with workshops delivered for Punch Records, Pirate Studios and Bradford Producing Hub.
FAQs
Yes, we can offer bursaries to attend this event. These are not means tested, but please only request a bursary if this is something you need to enable you to participate. The bursary is there to cover your time where you would otherwise be working in a freelance capacity, or if you need to take unpaid leave from employment. If you are participating as an employee of an organisation, we would expect this time to be covered as part of your working hours.
These full-day sessions will be paid at £75 per day.

Yes, we can cover travel and any other access costs that may otherwise present a barrier to you being able to participate in this event. Access costs include things like childcare and other caring costs; BSL, language and other interpretation costs; as well as access support workers, or any other access costs you might face.
