About Amplify
Amplify is a talent development programme for early to mid-career musicians and people working in the music sector in the Bradford district. This programme is generously supported by the PRS Foundation and PPL Talent Development Network.
Through Amplify, successful applicants will receive:
- A development grant of £750
- A bespoke package of mentoring from someone working specifically in your field
- Access to industry masterclasses
- Additional tailored resources to suit your specific needs
- Increase quality and ambition within the Bradford music sector and connect people more nationally
- Increase the number of promoters putting on great music events and create more opportunities for artists in Bradford
- Support more people to develop their experience in music management and A&R to support the sector to grow
Who is Amplify For?
To be eligible for this programme you must be:
- 18 years old or over
- Living in or making work in Bradford, or you have another strong demonstrable connection to the District
- Have at least 1 year’s experience in one of the fields listed below
Additional eligibility criteria depending on your field within the music sector:
Musicians
You’re a musician who has been releasing for at least 12 months. Live performance experience is a plus!
Producers, composers and/or songwriters
You have been producing music for at least 12 months and can provide credits and examples of projects you have collaborated on.
Music manager, promoter, publishing, A&R, and/or other music management and business professions
You have been working with artists or on events for at least 12 months and can provide examples of events you have put on, projects you have created through social media coverage, event footage or testimonials from artists you’ve worked with.
Independent music journalists, media producers and/or content creators
You’ve been writing articles or producing content for at least 12 months and can demonstrate this with links to articles, podcast links, or other content.

Amplify Timeline
Much of the Amplify programme will be tailored to you and your development needs, though everyone on the programme will roughly follow the below timeline:
- Sunday 15 September
Applications close - Week commencing Monday 23 September
Informal interviews - Friday 4 October
Places on the programme will be confirmed - Monday 14 October
Programme commences with kick-off meetings - November 2024 – February 2025
Mentoring, masterclasses and bespoke support takes place - March 2025

We are hosting an online info session where you find out more about the programme and ask any questions you have. We will be recording the session, but we encourage everyone to attend the live event if possible to gain the most from the session.

Basically, as long as you meet the criteria listed in the ‘Who is Amplify For?‘ section, and you have a clear idea of how you want to develop your creative career – we want to hear from you!
Yes! As long as you have 12+ months of experience in one of the fields in the ‘Who Amplify is for’ section and you meet the criteria, you are eligible. We understand that many creatives get stuck in one area of their practice – and this programme is here to help you develop your music career in the ways you want to.
Yes, but one application will need to be made from a lead band member. The support will be shared across the band and not duplicated individually.
If it’s more accessible for you to make your application by submitting a video or audio file, then you are welcome to do so. Please email your application to hello@bdproducinghub.co.uk by the deadline.
Here are some guidance notes for submitting your application via email:
- Please use the subject line ‘Amplify application submission‘.
- Please attach, or link to, an audio/video application of no more than around 5 minutes in length. This should answer all the questions detailed in the ‘What are the application questions?’ FAQ below.
- In the email, please include the following information:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number
- Your full postcode
- Your connection to Bradford
- Whether you have any access requirements we need to consider when communicating with you, or when handling your application (you’re welcome to upload an access rider too)
You will also need to evidence your experience to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Please include links in your email to any required evidence detailed in the ‘What are the application questions?’ FAQ section below.
To help you to prepare your application in advance, here are the main questions ask in the application form:

- Do you have any access requirements we need to consider when handling your application, communicating with you, or to enable you to participate in this programme?
N.B. If you have an access rider, you will be able to upload this to the application form - What are your career aspirations for the next 6-12 months?

- What specific goals would you like to achieve through the Amplify programme?

We will assess applications against our eligibility criteria. We’re looking to select applicants who will gain the most from the programme and have representation within the cohort from a range of fields within Bradford’s music scene, to help us strengthen the sector in multiple areas.

This interview is really just an informal chat to help us and you work out if this opportunity is a good fit for you, and that this is the right time. There are no set formal questions, we just want to get to know you and your work a little bit more.
This meeting will happen once you have been offered a place. Through this meeting, we’ll work out how best to support you through the programme including which mentoring partners will be a good match, and what additional resources might be most beneficial. This is a bespoke talent development programme, so this will be the moment we tailor our support around you!
