Are you planning to apply to the Immersive Arts Fund?
We’re providing application support to Bradford artists to develop their application to Immersive Arts funding – and help increase your chances of success in securing £5,000, £20,000, or even £50,000 to explore, experiment or expand how you use immersive technologies.
What is Immersive Arts funding?
You don’t have to be tech-savvy (though you can be) to apply to the Immersive Arts fund. All you need is a curious mind and a creative practice. Essentially, it’s about breaking down barriers, making what can be an exclusive field of practice much more accessible to all. Artists at all levels of experience are invited to apply.Â
Immersive Arts supports artists through three strands:
- Explore £5,000
For artists with no or very little experience of immersive arts or technologies to explore a new way of working - Experiment £20,000
For artists ready to get an idea off the ground and test it with an audience - Expand £50,000
For artists with well-developed projects ready for new heightsÂ
Each strand is designed to support artists at different stages in their creative development with immersive technologies. Applicants can only apply for one of these funding strands. To find out more about the Immersive Arts Fund, and take their interactive quiz to find out which strand is right for you, head to immersivearts.uk

FAQs
To help you prepare, here are the questions we ask in the registration form:Â
- Your details
- What is your connection to Bradford?
- Tell us a bit about you and your creative practice
- Which Immersive Arts fund will you be applying to: Explore, Experiment or Expand?
- Tell us about your project or idea
- What do you plan to do with the money?
- Tell us a bit about what work you have done so far on your application
After the deadline, we will look at all the applications and decide on who we think is most likely and in the best position to benefit from this support. We’ll also look to make sure we have a spread of people and projects that are representative of Bradford, our creative sector, and the different levels of funding available.
We know that these types of applications take a significant amount of time and effort. Because we can only support a small number of Bradford artists, we want to make sure this opportunity goes to people who are ready and in the best position to benefit from this now. We think this will be people who have been thinking about how immersive technologies could be part of their work for some time, are already aware of the fund and have a good idea of what they want to do.
So, we are looking for people who have already decided they want to apply and have done some work towards their application. This is likely to include things like:
- Meetings/discussions with collaborators or partners who might support you in the project
- Begun thinking about and drafting answers to the key questions
- Done some work around budget and costs
- Planned a proper timeline for your project and how it will fit with your other work/commitments
If you have access needs around making an application to this fund, Immersive Arts UK can provide funds for a support worker or someone to work with you to support your needs. There is more information about this here at
immersivearts.uk/resources/access-support
If you need help understanding the kind of support you can request or the process for requesting this, get in touch with BPH straight away, and we can advise. Drop us an email to hello@bdproducinghub.co.uk
