Bradford Producing Hub (BPH), Bradford 2025 and The Brick Box (who organise Bradford Cultural Voice Forum) are teaming up to host the biggest creative social event of the year at The National Science and Media Museum. The Big Creative Social is open to creative organisations and freelancers alike, a chance to put names to faces, explore creative potential, collaborations and opportunities in Bradford, and of course some downtime to properly chat without needing to unmute ourselves.
It’s been a tough old slog and we think it’s time to bring everyone together: to reflect, to celebrate and to think about what and who we want to take with us into the coming year.
The Big Creative Social will feature three fun stations led by The Brick Box, Bradford 2025 and BPH.
The Brick Box will be turning your woes and bad experiences into Golden Shreddies. Whether it’s a painful funding application, a terrible date, or a thousand unread emails, they will transform your worries into gold and leave space for new joys.
Bradford 2025 wants to know your individual ambitions for 2022. If you could think as BIG as you like, how would you imagine a brilliant future for yourself next year? Let us plot together and think about what you could bring to our massive district.
BPH will be playing a game. Spin the wheel of connection and accept a creative challenge to enhance and develop old and new relationships in the room, and explore opportunities for collaboration!
Schedule of Activities
3.30 to 4.00pm – Welcome: Tea, coffee, cakes and chat – Café
4.00 to 4.30pm – Let’s talk about CREATIVITY: An inspiring talk about the power and impact of creativity in Bradford with Kofi Smiles, BBC Radio Humberside breakfast show host. Kofi became a popular voice on the station when he beat 200 suitors to become the BBC’s Face of Hull, fronting the corporation’s coverage of the UK City of Culture in 2017.
4.30 to 5.30pm – Work the Room: Some facilitated mingling, schmoozing and nattering- expect conversation starters, Bradfordy bingo and creative truths or dares! WonderLab.
5.30pm to TBC – The Proper Social Bit: a brisk walk through the mirror pool for jazz, drinks and more networking at Bradford 2025 Offices.
