Sunday 3 November 2024 at 11 PM

Are you preparing an application to Arts Council England's DYCP Round 22, or redeveloping a previously unsuccessful application?

We’re providing application support to 7 artists to develop their application to Arts Council England’s DYCP Round 22 and help increase your chances of success!

What is DYCP?

DYCP stands for Developing Your Creative Practice and is an Arts Council England fund to support cultural and creative practitioners who want to focus on their creative development. Individuals can apply for between £2,000 and £12,000.

Upcoming DYCP deadlines:

  • Round 22: 12 PM (midday) on Thursday 12 December 2024

To find out more about about DYCP and eligibility criteria, head to artscouncil.org.uk/dycp

Who can register for DYCP application support?

To be eligible for our DYCP application support for Round 22, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You are 18 years old or over
  • You are living in, or making work in the Bradford district
  • You are planning on applying to DYCP Round 2
What does the application support include?

We are working with Producer Daisy Hale to support 7 applicants to DYCP Round 22.

This support includes:

  • An online meeting to discuss your plans and what you would like to apply for. Daisy will offer initial guidance, questions, actions, and things for you to consider.
  • Once you have written the first draft of your application, Daisy will read through it and provide detailed feedback either via email or through another meeting.

Please note: Daisy will not be writing your application for you. They will provide guidance, suggestions and advice alongside one round of feedback. It’s therefore in your best interest to get your first draft in the best shape possible for Daisy to be able to provide useful feedback.

Meet the Producer

Daisy Hale

They/them

Daisy Hale is an award-winning independent producer of exciting performance artists and the Creative Director of The Hale. The Hale produces and develops artists who have been traditionally ostracised from the mainstream, with a focus on Queer, Trans, Global Majority and Learning Disabled & Neurodivergent identities. Daisy’s work is not bound by form and takes place in theatres, cabaret, clubs, digital and large-scale events and focuses on using fun and populism that often has a grassroots activism strand to have wider conversations about socio-political topics. They advocate for producer development and creating alternative models of working, leadership and project creation built from a process of care.

Previously, Daisy was Associate Producer for Theatre Royal Stratford East and Assistant Producer for the Borough of Enfield’s Theatres. They have been part of the Old Vic 12 (2018/19) and did Clore Emerging Leaders in 2020. Daisy regularly facilitates for organisations including Clore, Soho Theatre, Yard Theatre, Stage One, NYT and Bradford Producing Hub. Daisy is an access consultant and disability equality trainer for arts organisations. They are also a trustee of ArtsAdmin and Clore Leadership.

FAQs

To help you prepare in advance of completing the registration form, below are some of the questions we ask. These questions are in addition to general questions about you and your eligibility.

  • Please tell us, in as much detail as possible, what steps you have taken so far to prepare your application for Round 21 of DYCP.
  • Can you briefly describe your creative practice?
  • Can you give us a brief description of your DYCP application?
  • Are there any specific areas of your DYCP application that you would like support with?
  • If any, what support have you had with this application so far?
  • Do you have any access requirements that we need to know about when communicating with you and providing support?

For fairness, if we receive over 7 eligible registrations we will enter them into a ballot for random selection.
