This opportunity is specifically for artists who already have an idea for an outdoor performance to happen here in Bradford and want to spend focused time thinking about how to make it happen.
Taking place at dedicated retreat accommodation in the inspiring Yorkshire Dales we hope this will be a valuable opportunity for a group of artists to live and work together, providing dedicated time to imagine the possibilities and potential of their creative idea. The residency will be facilitated by a range of artistic, production, fundraising, marketing and technical experts – who’ll also be on-hand for the entire time to offer individual advice and support.
Following the residency artists will have a chance to pitch ideas to a panel of people supportive of outdoor arts events in Bradford including Bradford Council, Bradford 2025, The Leap and Bradford BID.
We had originally planned to run a similar training programme, Get it Done – Outdoor Arts across October and November, however a second lockdown halted our plans when we could no longer meet face to face. This did give us the time to come up with this new approach which will allow artists to immerse themselves in this training safely and in-line with all Covid-19 guidance.

The Residential will take place at High Trenhouse, in the inspiring Yorkshire Dales
We’ll live and work together for the 3 days, staying overnight for 2 nights (everyone will have their own bedroom). The days will be a mixture of workshops/talks, one-to-one advice sessions and time to work on your idea.
Yes, during the Residential you will get one-to-one time with the different experts to discuss your project. After the Residential you will also get up to 1 day additional support from a creative producer and a production manager.
Covid-19?
Just before the residency everyone will get a COVID-19 test through a private testing company (costs covered by us) so that we know that it is safe for us all to be together. The group will be the same people for the 3 days and be together for all this time; effectively becoming a ‘bubble’.
What if I have symptoms or have to self-isolate at this time?Â
At the time if you have to self-isolate, test positive or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 symptoms you will not be able to come to the residency and take part.  We will do our best to film/ record the sessions and share them with you after the event – but we’ll only do this under these circumstances.
Will there be any cost to me?
No, we will cover the costs of all travel, accommodation, food and resources for the entire time. We can also provide a bursary of £50 per day for taking part.
To apply, please tell us:
