The Queer Muslim Project is Asia’s leading digital and cultural platform for diverse LGBTQIA+ individuals, with a global community of over 70,000 people. They use art, culture and media to challenge harmful stereotypes and norms, build power and visibility of LGBTQIA+ storytellers and enable them to shape their own narratives.
They celebrate and nurture underrepresented queer talent and provide them with the tools, resources and networks to tell the stories that can drive sustainable change. Their work supports a wide variety of artists, activists, and community organisations, including those from South Asia, South East Asia, the UK, US, Europe and the MENA region.
Their work catalyses underrepresented artists as culture change leaders and creates pathways for their professional and personal development while allowing them to find life-affirming resources, networks and career opportunities.
In 2017, The Queer Muslim Project began in response to the lack of safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ Muslims in India to come together and tell their stories.
