Bradford Producing Hub is offering emerging and early-career music promoters in the Bradford district application support for the Early Career Promoter Fund from the PRS Foundation, which provides grants of up to £3,500 alongside skills development.

The PRS Early Career Promoter Fund recognises the importance of independent promoters and offers grants of up to £3,500 alongside capacity-building support. We’ve partnered with Lucy Woolley to provide 5 promoters with personalised advice, guidance and feedback to support their applications. This fund is open now and there is a rolling monthly deadline for applications until February 2025.

About the PRS Early Career Promoter Fund

The PRS Early Career Promoter Fund is designed to help emerging promoters to do what they do best – book and promote shows to develop scenes, support artists and DJs, reach and engage audiences, and build sustainable careers in the grassroots music sector. Those receiving support will be supported to book and promote talent at a scale beyond their current level and build their capacity, skills and networks.

Grants of up to £3,500 are available to support a range of activities, including:

  • The booking, programming and promotion of gigs, concerts, club nights, showcases, tours and other performances
  • Costs associated with those activities including venue hire, production, artist and/or DJ fees, crew fees, administration and other related costs
  • Capacity building including mentoring, coaching, shadowing, workshops, masterclasses, and other skill-building and networking opportunities
  • Other expenditure which helps grantees to programme a diverse range of artists, develop new audiences and build their skills

About our application support for Bradford promoters

The first step is for you to register your interest for application support to the PRS Early Career Promoter Fund by completing our online form. If we receive more than 5 eligible* registrations, they will be entered into a ballot where 5 successful registrations will be randomly selected.

Successful registrations will then receive personalised advice, guidance and feedback from Lucy in the form of:

  • An online meeting (Zoom or similar) to discuss your plans and what you would like to apply for. Lucy will offer initial guidance, questions and actions/things for you to think about when you’re writing your application.
  • After you’ve written a first draft of your application, Lucy will read it and provide detailed feedback either via email or through another meeting.
  • You will then be ready to make any final changes to your application before submitting it to the PRS Foundation.
This support does not involve Lucy writing the application for you but providing support and advice enabling you to build a strong application yourself.

*To check your eligibility, see our FAQ section at the bottom of this page.
