About the event

Calling all Bradford performance makers! Join us for our latest training programme to become great storytellers, with a bursary to support you to do it!

Bradford is blessed to have a wealth of talented performance-makers across the district. If you’re making performance of any kind, our latest training programme Being Great Storytellers is for you! Being Great Storytellers is part of our Creative Quality Series which is designed to inspire, connect, and develop the rich talent of performance makers across Bradford in readiness to create amazing work as we become the UK City of Culture 2025*.

About being great storytellers

Being Great Storytellers is a series of three workshops for performance makers to explore what it takes to tell great stories. Although you may work with writing and scripts, this is not a writing course. It’s about bringing brilliant stories to life for audiences.

This training programme will provide support, tools, and approaches for you to be ready to make your best, boldest, and most robust work yet. You’ll take part in practical, hands-on sessions led by highly respected artists with years of experience making work. They’ll share lots of tips, techniques and ways of working that you can use in your practice right away. There’ll also be space to reflect, imagine, and be inspired about the kind of work you want to make.
